Podcast 190: Seven Tools for Self-Examination

March 27, 2026/in Podcast/by Wallace Smith and John Robinson

In God’s Festivals, the spring Holy Days are a time of self-examination. While we might hear the admonition to examine ourselves fairly frequently, how do you go about doing that? Are there any “boots on the ground,” practical approaches? Yes, there are. Today, we share seven approaches you can use, not just during this Festival season, but any time.

We also mention a few resources in the podcast. One is the 2023 LCN article, “How to Fast,” and the other is a new Whiteboard on the topic of fasting. We also refer to an old podcast of ours on prayer and biblical meditation (at least I think that is the one).

And we pray you all have a wonderful Sabbath and joyous start to the Spring Holy Days!

Podcast 189: Because of Passover…

March 20, 2026/in Podcast/by Wallace Smith & John Robinson

Passover is a little more than a week away! As the first of God’s annual festivals and the one picturing Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for us, it has much to teach us. Join us today as we discuss five lessons we learn from this momentous day.

We mention a sermon in this week’s podcast—Mr. Gerald Weston’s sermon, “Passover Resolutions.” If you’re interested, click through to see it. It is a great message for this important time of year.

“Impossible Is Nothing”

March 16, 2026/in Uncategorized/by Mark Sandor

When I learned of the death of famous boxer Muhammad Ali, my mind immediately began to recall some of his most famous words and victories. Though Ali was not a Christian, one of his quotes helped me both in and beyond my academic pursuits.

Podcast 186: Biblical Thinking on Tattoos and Piercings

February 27, 2026/in Podcast/by Wallace Smith & John Robinson

Tattoos and body piercings seem to be on their way to becoming the norm in society. How do we think biblically about such things? What are the right questions to ask ourselves?

As we mentioned on the program, we’ve addressed tattoos before—way back in our very first season. You can find that podcast here: “Episode 8: So, If Christ Has a Tattoo, Can I Get One?” And we talked about Mr. Gerald Weston’s helpful focus on the questions we need to ask ourselves here: “Episode 39: ‘Is It OK?’ Is Not Enough.”

Podcast 185: Three Insights for the Young from Our Time at the NRB

February 20, 2026/in Podcast/by Wallace Smith & John Robinson

Sitting here in a car with Messrs. DeSimone and West, coming back from the Religious Broadcasters Convention, it hit us that some of the things we heard and experienced this week prompted some very particular thoughts concerning the teens and young adults in the Church (and those who love them). So, if you’ll put up with a little recorded-on-the-phone-and-in-the-car audio, it’s our pleasure to share those thoughts with you!

Podcast 184: All About Men’s Training Camps!

February 13, 2026/in Podcast/by Wallace Smith & John Robinson

The Living Church of God’s Men’s Training Camp weekends are phenomenal opportunities for men to come together and grow as Christians. Seen properly, they benefit not just the men who attend, but all of us. On today’s podcast, Mr. Jonathan McNair, the Director of Living Education, stops by to discuss the goals and purposes of these programs and to give us a sense of what they are like.

Also, here’s a link to the Living Education page on the Men’s Training Camps, mentioned in the video.
