A week ago, there was a lot of buzz about a simulation in which an A.I. drone was said to have chosen to attack its own side to prevent its human controller from holding it back as it sought to destroy enemy targets. Then, word came that it was all supposedly a “thought experiment.” Meanwhile, experts sign a letter claiming that A.I. could cause human extinction. Will A.I. destroy the world? (Spoiler alert… Short answer: “No.” Long answer: “OK, maybe a little—and, in the meantime, what career are you interested in, again?”) Join us this week as we think biblically about these things!
