Podcast: Why the Work Matters

Today on the podcast, we revisit the topic we recorded last time but didn’t publish, so we wanted to tilt at it again: Why the Work of preaching the Gospel of God’s Kingdom to the world matters. It is essential to living as a Christian, but it’s easy to be distracted from that fundamental truth, especially in our youth. Yet embracing that truth and growing to understand how the Work should matter to you, personally, can be transformative and can help enable God to produce in you the eternal fruit He is looking to produce. So, enjoy this podcast! We get a little passionate in places, but, you know, if you can’t be passionate about the Work of Jesus Christ in the world, what else can you be passionate about?

The YouTube and Spotify links/embeds are below. And under those are links to the resources we mentioned in the podcast.

Here are links to the resources mentioned in the podcast:

Podcast: Costs, Benefits, and Sin

Mr. Mark Sandor continues as guest co-host and takes us on a cost-benefit analysis of sin. It’s a lot more interesting than it sounds! Honest! And, in the end, it provides quite a meditation on faith, to boot. Join us! YouTube and Spotify links, below.

Podcast: What We Wish We’d Known

In this week’s Living Youth Podcast, with guest co-host Mr. Mark Sandor, we reflect on our own “unchurched” youth and consider what we know now that we wish we’d known then. We hope you find it profitable! The Spotify link will be added as soon as it is available.

P.S. When I posted this earlier today, I forgot that we had mentioned some articles we wanted to link to. Here are those links! Click away!

Podcast: Resist the Pressure to Blur Gender Lines!

On today’s podcast, we discuss the pressures on boys and girls (and on young men and young women) to ignore the differences in the two sexes God created and to adopt a confusing, self-destructive worldview. Huge forces in society are seeking to rob from you the joys of embracing the gender God designed you to be. Don’t let them do it! We hope this podcast helps.

Podcast: Behind Camp with Mr. Weston & Mr. McNair!

As tired as they may have been, Mr. Gerald Weston and Mr. Jonathan McNair were willing to sit down with us only a couple of days after returning from the 2022 LYP Texas Teen Camp and to talk about the experience, including the kinds of things they seek to achieve at our camps and how to get the most out of them. We hope you enjoy it! The YouTube version is below, and the Spotify link is right below that.

Podcast: Why Does God Say He Hates Divorce?

(Again, if you are here for camp pics, just keep scrolling!)

Mr. Robinson is back in town! We sat down and discussed a topic that has been on our minds since we discussed the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp defamation case: Why does God say He hates divorce? “Hate” is a strong word! But Malachi 2:16 is pretty plain.

Your youth is the time to come to understand how God thinks about marriage and relationships, and we hope this discussion about why God might feel the way He does about the topic is helpful to you. (Bonus: One reason we discourage the “boyfriend/girlfriend” thing for teenagers is explained in this podcast! Don’t miss it!)

Our post to YouTube needed a re-post to fix an error, so it looks like it is up on Spotify first! Here’s the Spotify link, and when it is up on YouTube, we’ll add that right below the Spotify notice. So, YouTubers, keep an eye out. It’s almost there… [Update: It’s fixed and back up on YouTube! We’ve added it below, a bit under the Spotify link.]

Podcast: Does Numbers 5 mean God is pro-abortion?

Today’s podcast was recorded last night, inspired by a Twitter exchange one of us had with someone suggesting that Numbers 5 is a biblical endorsement of abortion. We thought it would be a worthwhile topic because (1) you guys are going to face scripture-twisting arguments like this, yourself, and (2) the Bible does have some passages that can strike us as “weird” at first reading, and this might be one for you. But it all makes sense if you approach the Bible with your biblical-thinking head on straight. We hope this helps!

We’ve embedded the YouTube video below, but you can also listen on Spotify if you have a Spotify account by clicking here. [Reminder: We’re on Spotify now!]

(As for emailing us, I’ve confirmed that the email address we have is not yet working properly, and I’ve got an email into the HQ IT department to see what’s going on. I’m sure they’ll be able to fix it soon, and we’ll let you know when it is fully working.)
