Podcast 150: How to “Watch” with Your Head on Straight

God’s word encourages us to watch world events, yet it’s easy to do so in an unhealthy way or in a way that fails to make the prophetic connections. Today, we talk about how to keep your head on straight and think biblically while keeping an eye on world affairs.

We also mention Mr. Richard Ames’ booklet, Understanding Biblical Prophecy, and our Whiteboard video on the Mark of the Beast. Here, above the embeds, are links to both:

Podcast 137: Prophecy Comes Alive!

Bible prophecies that the Church of God has spoken about for generations, even in the face of mockery, seem to be coming alive right before our eyes these days. Podcast 124: Is “Wicked” Wicked? Isaiah 5 Weighs In…

It’s popular. It’s trending. It promises a good message about the importance of character over social status, not judging based on appearances, and being concerned about the oppressed. But looking more broadly, the musical Wicked is part of a larger trend that illustrates how a warning found in Isaiah 5 applies very powerfully to our time today.

Podcast 112: Why Does God Use Prophecy?

Prophecy is weird! But it really is important, and God uses it for good reason. Join us today as we talk about why God uses prophecy, some reasons why He doesn’t, why you don’t need to be intimidated by it, and how to start understanding it yourself.

In today’s podcast, we refer to a telecast on the same topic. Now that we look for that one, I’m not sure it has aired yet! But this classic from Mr. Richard Ames covers the exact same points: “Why Bible Prophecy?” Also, here are the five booklets we recommended to begin your own studies in Bible prophecy—again, all you have to do is get this booklet and read a little each week, looking up verses in your Bible as you encounter them in the booklet. No need to be intimidated!

However, one we did not mention that is sort of a no-brainer is Mr. Ames’ booklet Understanding Bible Prophecy. Like the Revelation booklet, it is a great one to start with.

Podcast 101: Harrison Butker’s Speech and Prophecy

When 28-year-old Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker recently gave a commencement address to Benedictine College graduates, he kicked off a firestorm of controversy. But biblically discerning listeners will note a mix of great values and great inaccuracies in his speech—and, believe it or not, potentially prophetic relevance. Join us as we break it down!

Here are some of the elements mentioned in this week’s podcast:
