LYC Europe 2015 in Domaine Provincial de Chevetogne, Belgium, was a success this summer. There were a variety of activities including softball, volleyball and “speedminton”. There were also daily sessions of moral instruction. The first class each day was Christian Living, putting into practice “First things First.” On Wednesday, Campers and staff took a field trip to Domaine des Grottes de Han, an animal reserve and cave. It was a beautiful day to take a three mile hike – to observe owls, bears, deer, wild horses, buffalo and lynx. There were various other native European creatures in natural surroundings. Following this, the campers took a two-mile tour through the Han cave. Here we could see beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, and other fascinating cave structures and also featured a captivating sound and light show. On Thursday, everyone had the opportunity to exercise courage on the high ropes course. Camp was a great opportunity for campers to learn, fellowship and build new experiences.
To round off the week of activities and to share the excitement, campers and staff went to Charleroi for Sabbath services where the brethren welcomed everyone with a buffet afternoon tea. A slide presentation featuring the campers and activities brought everyone up to date and gave subjects for conversation after services.
